When designing a website, one of the biggest decisions you'll face is choosing between a fancy, visually rich design and a simple, minimalist approach. For a recent project, I deliberately avoided fancy designs, flashy animations, and 3D effects. Instead, I chose to focus on simplicity, lightness, and smooth animations. Here’s why:
1. Clarity Over Creativity
The website I designed is intended for educational purposes, where clarity is paramount. Students visiting the site need clear, concise information without the distractions of over-the-top design elements. So, do websites really need fancy designs, or is a straightforward design better? The answer depends on your audience and the purpose of your website. While flashy designs may work well for entertainment or fashion sites, a simple design is often more effective for educational platforms, corporate sites, or any project where clarity, usability, and functionality are key.
